Whats Good About the Recession?

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Three years ago Movement Arts was thriving with just one location. We had classes that were completely full. In fact, we  had a waiting list for some of the more popular classes. In response to the need, we enlarged the parking area. After seven years of struggle to stay open it felt like all the hard work had paid off!

We didn't feel the effect of the recession immediately, but over time we lost students due to losing their jobs, homes and other calamities. Now, in 2010, classes are small. There are three locations to choose from and all the instructors are working  for less income. The important thing is that we are still here, with excellent instruction, beautiful and clean environments, and plenty of individual attention.

The people we have to thank for keeping it all afloat are our students, many of whom have considered their classes at Movement Arts to be a priority in their lives. Your commitment to us renews our commitment to you, even in these difficult times. THANK YOU!

Laura Goldberg offering

a free introductory session of core synchronization

For Healing and Centering

Just walking into Laura' s office space is a calming experience. After a hour of her specialized energy work I find myself at a more centered and balanced place....kind of like yoga! Laura is generously offering a free session to our students. For more information on this work, or to schedule your appointment, see her page on our site.

Waiting for the Baby

Kelly O'Dell has recently switched from the Monday night yoga practice to the prenatal class due to the growing size of her belly. Now the baby is due anytime and could even be here as I write this. Best wishes to both Kelly and Raven as they head into parenting together!

End of August Schedule

August 30-September 6

We will be wrapping up all the session classes by August 28. There will be a one-week break in which all studios will be closed. Our monthly members will still be receiving four weeks of classes in August and September. Classes will resume at all locations on Tuesday, September 7.

New Guest Passes

Do you know someone who might like to take a class at Movement Arts, but needs some gentle prodding? Very soon we will be printing out "Guest Passes" which will be available to all our current students and members to share with a friend. The guest pass will entitle them to come in a try a single class for free. A nice gift for someone you care about!
