Tahitian Dance for Women

With Natalie Hinanui-Sterett

I come from a rich Tahitian heritage of chiefs and priests. On my grandfather's side I am a descendant of the warrior Chief To'ofa, who led the revolution against French occupation in the 1800s. On my grandmother's side I am a descendant of the high priest Ahutoru, who was also the first Tahitian to go to Europe in 1769. In keeping with my heritage I have been learning the Tahitian arts, one of which is dance. I look forward to sharing this part of my culture with all who are interested.
~Natalie

Dance from Tahiti honors the beauty of women of all ages, shapes and sizes.
