What is Laughter Club?


At Laughter Club we...

•leave stress outside for thirty minutes
•do breathing exercises and stretches
•discuss the benefits of laughter that reduce stress and prevent
hardening of the attitudes...
•laugh WITH each other, not at each other
•laugh voluntarily
•laugh because we accept the fact that life is often silly, ludicrous, absurd,
difficult, and sometimes just plain funny...


Laughter Exercise = Laughter plus Movement.
Otherwise known as Laughter Yoga, it is a systematic activity combining laughter, playfulness, breath work, and stretching. It’s a self-care strategy that can be practiced anywhere.

Currently we are not offering the Laughter Club at Movement Arts, although aspect of Laughter yoga will be used in our new Yoga to treat Depression class in January, 2010, led by Betsy Loving.
