Luigi Jazz Technique
Luigi jazz technique is a 45-minute series of warm-ups designed to create a strong, flexible and centered physique. Luigi, who is now in his seventies and still teaching in New York, created this classical jazz technique. Stars who have studied with Luigi include John Travolta, Liza Minnelli and countless others. Some background in dance is helpful, but not necessary, to learn this elegant jazz dance style. Each class includes optional jazz combinations in the last 15 minutes of class.
Attire: Wear comfortable clothing such as yoga or dance pants and a top. You will want to buy a pair of jazz shoes. Jazz shoes can be worn for any of our dance classes, providing comfort, warmth and support. Please purchase shoes with non-marking soles. If you are coming in for your first class and do not yet have shoes, you may practice in bare feet.

Harbinger Dance Company
For those who are interested, Movement Arts' Harbinger dance company offers rehearsal, choreography, and performance opportunities.
Harbinger Dance company is the performing group that naturally emerged from the Luigi jazz class. We work on original choreography, and then rehearse until we are ready to perform. Harbinger Dance has participated in the Linda Byrnes Performing Arts Center Grand Opening, the Arlington Street Fair, Cedarfest, and other venues. We welcome invitations from the community to perform. Our style could best be described as jazz/modern fusion dance. We are always seeking new members of the company.
