Getting Started


Many people have great intentions about taking care of themselves, but often it gets put aside. However, what we have been hearing from our students for years is that once they make it in, they are so glad they did. So why not start now? Your body/mind will thank you for it. Movement Arts offers a variety of classes for beginners and everyone else.

Proper attire for yoga, Pilates and tai chi classes: For yoga, Pilates and

Tai Chi you need only to wear clothing that is comfortable and enables you to move with ease. Leave your shoes at the door and enjoy a yoga practice in your most natural state. In the colder weather, layers are always a good idea. The Movement Arts Boutique has eco-friendly and beautiful clothing suitable for all classes as well as yoga mats and other supplies.

For dance classes: Some of our dance classes, such as belly dance and modern dance, can be done in bare feet if desired. Jazz shoes for Jazz dance, and Ballet shoes for Ballet please. Please purchase shoes with non-marking soles, to help keep the floors clean.

 

To register for a class or classes: Most of the classes we offer are on-going, so one can begin anytime. Just show up for your chosen class early to register. Special Workshops and Retreats can be paid for on-line, by mail, or at the studio.

Payment options We accept checks, credit cards, and cash for all classes.

Not sure you want to commit ? Try our three or six class sampler and see for yourself if this is something you like. If you decide to stay, you can convert to a membership later.
