About Us

Kara Keating
Director, Movement Arts
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT)

Kara is a Movement Educator, specializing in yoga and dance as therapeutic and healing practices. She holds a B.A. in Dance & Physical Education from the University of Iowa, with additional study at Texas Tech University and the Leonard Davis Center for the Performing Arts at the City College of New York. Her dance background includes extensive training in ballet, modern & jazz. She is most grateful for Luigi, a master jazz teacher, and she continues to practice and teach his technique to this day.

Kara has been involved with some aspect of yoga for most of her life, starting with instruction from her father at age 12. She believes that the study and practice of yoga is lifelong and basic to keeping the body, mind, heart and spirit connected, healthy, and vital. She has studied with many yoga teachers, and offers special thanks and recognition to Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker, Angela Farmer, John Friend, Donna Farhi, Paul Grilley, Judith Lasater and Theresa Elliott. Kara offers her evolving and eclectic style of Naga yoga:"What I find most powerful and transforming becomes what I share with my students."
