Village Dances for community medicine
|
In 1998, after repairs and restoration work, the doors opened for classes. Movement arts gradually became a different kind of fixture in the community-a new use for a historical building. In 2002, we began additional improvements, including a brand new 2000 square foot oak floor, new roof, complete sanding and painting of the barn exterior, and other interior changes. The studio was featured in a national magazine article (Real Simple, November 2002). Now, in 2007, Movement Arts has evolved into a healing arts center, with a strong emphasis on yoga and its ever-deepening practices, as well as yoga teacher training, personal counseling, and bodywork. Our partnership with the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation department is helping to introduce many new people to movement arts like yoga, tai chi and dance. In addition to our Arlington classes, we offer classes on Camano Island, at the Camano Senior and Community Center.
Our mission: To bring health, healing, and inspiration to our community.
